Karnataka High Court Accepts Affidavit Notarised on EZNotary, a Step Toward Digital Legal Paperwork in India

NOIDA, Uttar Pradesh, November 2026: The Karnataka High Court has accepted an affidavit that was notarised entirely online. The decision could change how Indians handle one of their most routine and time-consuming legal formalities. The document was notarised through EZNotary, a digital notary platform run by Noida-based Quereshan Solutions Private Limited. When it accepted the affidavit, the Court also directed its Registry to consider e-notarisation for court filings.

That is a big milestone for a company incorporated only in February 2025. It also brings attention to a question litigants, tenants and businesses have asked for years: why does getting a document notarised still mean a trip to a notary’s office, a long queue and a pile of photocopies?

How the platform works

EZNotary was built to remove those steps. Users upload their document and verify their identity through Aadhaar eKYC. The platform’s “Instant Connect” feature then puts them on a secure video call with a live Notary Public. The document is signed with eSign, stamped through eStamp where needed, and notarised. The company says the whole process usually takes less than 15 minutes, and users never have to visit a physical office.

Every video session is recorded and stored securely for 10 years, so users and authorities have a verifiable record of each notarisation. The platform uses bank-grade 256-bit AES encryption and holds ISO 27001:2022 certification for information security management. It is designed to support compliance with India’s digital documentation and information technology regulations.

Services for individuals and businesses

For individuals, EZNotary covers the documents people need most often. These include affidavits for income, relationship, date of birth and property, along with rental agreements, Power of Attorney and self-declarations. People often need these at short notice, for a bank, a college admission or a new tenancy, and that is when a visit to a notary is hardest to fit in.

Businesses can use an enterprise B2B portal built for volume. Companies use it for bulk notarisation, HR onboarding agreements, vendor contracts, financial agreements and corporate compliance paperwork. Multi-party signatures and secure document verification let several signatories in different cities complete an agreement without anyone having to travel.

Users have responded well. EZNotary has an average rating of 4.9 stars on its platform.

Why it matters

Banking, tax filing and identity verification have all moved online in India, but notarisation has mostly stayed on paper. The Karnataka High Court’s acceptance of an e-notarised affidavit suggests courts are willing to treat digital notarisation as a credible alternative, as long as the process is secure, recorded and verifiable.

For people in smaller towns, working professionals and companies onboarding staff across several locations, that could save real time and money. A process that once took half a day can now be done from a phone or laptop.

EZNotary says its mission is to make personal and business processes simpler by offering digital notarisation from anywhere, at any time. Its wider goal is to modernise legal documentation in India and replace paper-heavy workflows with digital tools that are easier for everyone to use.
