Gallery ArtCradle is pleased to present In-Between the Dialogue: Spasht–Aspasht by the Artists, a two-person exhibition bringing together the distinct yet interconnected artistic practices of mother-daughter duo Jyoti Singh and Shreya Singh. Curated by Asmita Grover, the exhibition will be on view from 25 September to 6 October 2026 at Gallery ArtCradle, DLF Phase 1, Gurugram.

At its heart, In-Between the Dialogue explores the intimate relationship between creativity, connection and self-discovery. The exhibition looks beyond spoken communication to consider the spaces where dialogue takes shape through gestures, emotions, shared experiences and artistic expression. Here, art becomes a language through which two individuals communicate, encourage one another and discover their own identities.

For Shreya Singh, a young artist, art extends beyond conventional forms of expression. Her practice explores the delicate balance between movement and stillness, emotion and confidence. Through her engagement with art, she finds ways to communicate experiences and feelings that may be difficult to articulate through words. Her artistic journey reflects an ongoing process of self-discovery, as she develops confidence and a visual language of her own.

For Jyoti Singh, nurturing her daughter’s artistic aspirations gradually opened a creative journey of her own. What began alongside her daughter’s engagement with art evolved into a personal exploration of self-expression. Working across canvas and paper, her practice brings together intricate details, imagination and emotion, creating a visual world shaped by observation and feeling.

Bringing their works together, the exhibition does not attempt to merge the two practices into a single artistic vocabulary. Instead, it allows them to exist independently while remaining connected through the relationship that brought them into the same creative space. Their works engage in a quiet exchange, reflecting how artistic journeys can develop alongside one another while retaining their individual voices.

The title Spasht–Aspasht, meaning clear and unclear, further evokes the nuances within this dialogue. Not every form of communication is verbal or immediately understood. Some conversations unfold through colour, texture, gesture, movement and imagination. The exhibition considers these subtle exchanges and the possibilities that emerge in the spaces between what is expressed and what remains unspoken.

Through the practices of Jyoti and Shreya Singh, In-Between the Dialogue reflects on the reciprocity of care and creativity, where encouragement can become possibility and shared experiences can become a source of artistic discovery. It presents a story of individuality and togetherness, tracing how two artistic voices can grow independently while remaining deeply connected.

About Gallery ArtCradle

Gallery ArtCradle is a contemporary art gallery in Gurugram founded by artist Malabika Saikia in 2023, with Panchi Mahanta as Partner. Conceived as more than an exhibition space, the gallery seeks to foster an evolving dialogue between artists, collectors and art enthusiasts.

About the Curator

Asmita Grover is a museum curator and heritage professional specialising in museum interpretation, historical research, exhibition development and cultural heritage. She holds an MPhil from Trinity College Dublin and has academic training in History, Museum Studies, and Public History & Cultural Heritage.

Her professional experience includes working with the National Museum, New Delhi, the National Crafts Museum (Hastkala Academy) and other cultural institutions. Since 2022, she has been associated with Jamia Hamdard as Museum Curator, contributing to the development of its Museum and Heritage Gallery.

Her curatorial practice combines research-led approaches, interpretation and visual storytelling to create meaningful public encounters with history, art and heritage.
