1. Please share some of your as well as your students’ achievement of the year 2022 that you are proud about.
Year 2022 has been a good year for Kreative Minds, its learners and for me too. Few of our learners got admission with scholarships in various Art Universities in the UK and the US. 2 of our learners got awarded Gold and Silver positions in exhibitions in the teenage category and many were recognized for their artworks. We started with offline exhibitions and the response of people in our exhibition Esthetique was really good. We were also able to find new homes of the paintings of various artists who participated in Esthetique 2022. Our international learners also got the opportunity to participate in various online exhibitions. It was a happy and proud moment for us to see their artworks being admired and loved by the viewers.
For me personally, it was a very good year as I was awarded with 2 prestigious awards. 1st – Women Leaders Award in the Category of Skill Development. 2nd – Women Icon Award for making a contribution in the Art & Culture Field. I was also recognized and felicitated by the esteemed University of Art & Culture – Pracheen Kala Kendra for my work and effort put in. My artworks also won accolades in 2 different competitions – 1st: Online Folk Art Competition & 2nd: Rani Laxmi Bai Award. These were organized by the prestigious Manikarnika Art Gallery. Leading to various accolades and appreciations, Manikarnika Art Gallery extended the opportunity for me to join them as one of their empanelled artists.
2. You have recently won an award, please tell us about it. Also tell us how an award is helpful for career building.
Well yes, I recently received 2 awards as I mentioned above. It is an amazing honour to receive these awards. When anybody is at the receiver’s end of an award, it is like a reminder to that person, that your work is being noticed and being looked at. This is what makes it special. Why? Just that, now you have set a benchmark for yourself and nothing below that mark will be satisfactory. So it becomes a very big responsibility to keep going and keep improving.
In today’s time, if your work is getting recognized and people are talking about it, then it works as one of the best marketing for any brand. People then want to know about your work and your brand and how it will make a difference in their life. It is just that; this marketing is not easy to get. In order to get this and get noticed or get people to come to you and be a part of your brand family, we have to walk really hard on our path and keep working hard and smart at the same time. So while building the brand, we build ourselves too.
3. What are your plans for the year 2023? Tell us about your upcoming projects.
As 2023 has begun, we have few events in the pipeline for the year. To begin with, we are planning to have few International Online Art Competitions based on fixed themes and techniques of art. Of course, we will be back with Esthetique – Our Offline Exhibitions and this year we plan to host Esthetique in 2-3 cities, like Bangalore, New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata.
We will also begin with Online Exhibitions where international artists can also participate. Few other events where in we plan to bring in outside experts and conduct a few workshops. Cannot reveal everything here. She loves to gives a surprise.
4. What did you learn from 2022, and how do you look forward to 2023?
Year 2022 has taught us a lot. In fact, I have to put it in an entrepreneur’s words, then more than the 2 years of Covid, 2022 was where we got most of the learnings. Reason being, 2020 & 2021 were the times where we were all trying to understand and adapt to the changes that were happening around us. In 2022, the implications started being visible and we then had to also apply and imply the learnings through the changes. So yes, it has been a little small teacher year if I may say so.
Now as 2023 has begun and we hope to come back to New Normal in full swing but of course a little tweak is expected, hence i said, New Normal. So I will just say that, let us all work while all can wait and watch what we are working on.
Thanking you
