Lockdown has ruined many lives but also made some. Swetalina Mohanty is one of them. Hailing from Eastern India, Odisha she is a resident of Puri, the pious Jagannath Dham.
From being a regular writer to a decorated author, Sweta’s inspiring journey made her way to be one of the budding author now.
She might be just 19, but this talented, young lady is already making her mark in the field of contemporary Indian Literature, winning hearts and breaking the records. Adding another feature to her cap, Sweta’s upcoming book going to be published within couple of week, “INVINCIBLE” is a collection of narrative poems, scrupulous articles and open letters from the writer herself to her fellow readers on diverse concerns.
“I am really confounded by seeing my works being recognised in such national level competitions and contests. For me these are not mere trophies, certificates or medals for these are the tiny steps for my further success. I have faced several challenges on my way here, but each one of them has only strengthened me to make me the person I am today; a thorough professional who knows exactly what she wants; someone who sets her eyes on a goal and does not lose sight of it, unless it is achieved. Winning this award would not have been possible without the inspiration I have received from my family and my friends for whom I have the deepest respect, and from whom I have derived the strength to challenge myself and perform better at each stage.” said Sweta with her compassionate voice during our conversation.
Q: Can you be more specific with your achievements, Sweta?

Sweta’s passion for writing and penning down her emotions was started during her tender days and she got this quality from her mother, Pranita Mohanty who is a businesswoman and she inspires her in every way possible. Her father, Himansu Kumar Mohanty, being a Branch Head of a nationalised Bank supports her with every means. She is fond of experimenting with different genres and writing styles, proving her versatility as a writer on many platforms. However, in her interview, she made things quite clear that she won’t be taking up writing as her career as she has other plans. “I never really plan on taking up my main career as a writer. Writing would always remain more dearer to me than anything but I won’t be taking this with me in a long run for generating money. I always write on my own convenience without any pressure of anyone. I love doing it because it gives me immense happiness and an escape from the monotony of life. Writing is an art and a craft that needs to be developed through deliberate practice and study over a long period of time. I only write when I’m inspired, so I see to it that I’m inspired every morning when I woke up. I want to join the administrative section of our country by clearing UPSC EXAMINATION after completing my BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN CIVIL ENGINEERING from VSSUT, Burla, Sambalpur, Odisha.” , says the budding writer.
This girl has definitely won hearts, carving a niche for herself in the literary world, with signs of a bright career in literature. She believes that world can be changed by the power of words.
Hope and all the well wishes for her upcoming first book INVINCIBLE to be loved and appreciated by all the fellow readers.
