Rhythms of Black and White organised by Nayan Naveli Gallery, New Delhi

Nayan Naveli Gallery proudly presented Rhythms of Black and White, a thoughtfully curated exhibition held from 10 July to 3 August 2026, celebrating the timeless strength, depth, and expressive power of monochromatic art. At a time when the contemporary world is immersed in an abundance of colour, the exhibition reaffirmed that black and white possess a vibrancy and visual power entirely of their own. Through the absence of colour, each artwork revealed deeper emotion, stronger contrasts, and narratives that transcend the need for embellishment.

The exhibition featured the works of 13 accomplished artists, each bringing a distinct artistic language and personal interpretation of black and white. Together, their works created a compelling dialogue on form, texture, emotion, memory, and imagination. The participating artists were: Ambrish Mishra, Chaya Dubey, Indeera Itti Menon, Jiten Sahu, Keshri Nandan, Kumari Nidhi, Rakhee Kumari, Roopali Dhawan, Sangeeta Jindal, Sanjay Tikkal, Sarika Poornanand, Snneha  and Sonam Singh.

The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of eminent artists Maïté Delteil, Jatin Das, and Anjolie Ela Menon, who inaugurated the exhibition with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The gallery witnessed a full house with more than 100 visitors, including artists, collectors, art enthusiasts, and members of the cultural community, making the opening a memorable celebration of contemporary art.

One of the most appreciated highlights of the exhibition was the live participatory art demonstration. Visitors were invited to observe one minute of silent meditation, followed by one minute of spontaneous drawing, encouraging a direct connection between mindfulness and artistic expression. This unique interactive installation received an overwhelming response and became one of the defining experiences of the exhibition.

Throughout its run, Rhythms of Black and White attracted an immense audience and received appreciation from artists, collectors, critics, and visitors alike. The exhibition successfully demonstrated that monochrome is not a limitation but an expansive visual language capable of expressing profound ideas with remarkable intensity.
