With resilience and selflessness Mr. Urmit Sharma from Jodhpur is sparing no effort to reach the needy Covid infected people to arrange plasma and Oxygen cylinders. He sticked together with the people who needed him at these trying times by building a bridge from fear to hope. His courage is jaw dropping that has become a source of inspiration for every young people. He sets an example of being a true Human Being providing the best in humanity.
Urmit Sharma is the youth leader who is redefining leadership in the city of Jodhpur. Urmit Sharma is a social activist, currently working with Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) as State SFS Coordinator with a goal to redefine leadership with his unique ideology. He was always inclined in doing something different for any social cause since when he was in school and it all began with rebuilding the nation via student activism from his school days and since that day in the year 2015 began his life as a social activist. Sharma has a very influential quality of leadership and this made him one of the brave youth leaders.
Seeing his capabilities he was assigned with significant responsibilities at a very early age. In 2015, he was nominated as “Nagar Mantri” from ABVP and that marked his first achievement followed with the responsibility of “Mahanagar Sh Mantri” in a span of one year in 2016. Being impressed by his loyalty and dedication towards his work, the organization assigned him the responsibility of “Mahanagar Sh Mantri” again in 2017. From the year 2018 to 2020 he upholds the responsibility of “District Joint Coordinator” at ABVP. Since then people started considering him as an innovator, problem solver and the most followed young leaders in Jodhpur who left no stone unturned in reshaping his community. Sharma actively participates in various Protests and stand with huge enthusiasm and zeal concerning Student Rights and Girls’ safety. He had set an example of a true social worker and a student leader, who is known to devote his life on the all-round development of students and the society. He did all what an influential person does.
However, the rural people were afraid of Covid testing and vaccine due to which it was challenging for Sharma to tackle the situation during pandemic but eventually he could manage and did not let hamper the Covid-19 fight. Like every brave soldier he had also set forth to stand by people of the country in such global crisis without any fear of getting infected. He believes every youth should stand by people at times of their need keeping aside politics and that’s when we will justify our human behavior with our actions.
Urmit belongs to a humble middle class family, his father Mr. Madan Sharma is a Government employee and his mother Mrs. Meena Sharma is a homemaker. He feels immensely grateful to his parents, family and friends for supporting him in his noble deed towards social development. He feels, every youth should take a stand for themselves whenever they feel something wrong is taking place without waiting for anyone to take action.
Sharma is a student leader known for his trustworthy, responsible, and respectful nature at the same time being grounded and humble. Urmit gets involved in renewal with everything when it comes to serving others. He never forgets to keep a check with the students in case of any problems, issues, and demands. In the recent incident of the Baton charge (“lathi Charge”) on the Students of JNVU during a peaceful protest, Sharma actively participated in the protest of 14 days authorized by ABVP for justice towards the students and fulfillment of their demands.
Currently Urmit is pursuing BA-LLB (Hons) from JNVU JODHPUR and aspires to become a lawyer and serve for needy people and their rights. Indeed we need more leaders like Urmit Sharma, who are prepared to redefine leadership with their sheer grit and passion. He follows a simple agenda of putting a smile on everyone’s face and that’s his way of serving for humanity, Perhaps the country needs more young leaders like Urmit Sharma who can reshape the society by being brave and honest.
