A visionary educationist, educator, trainer, and a certified Parenting Coach, Anju Arora, has been working in the educational domain for more than 25 years in various roles and responsibilities from a teacher to the Vice Principal, and then on to the Founder Principal of a leading CBSE School for 16 years. Currently she is working as the Director Academics of an upcoming K12 school. Working in close connection with people she has realized that most of them are capable of performing better; they just need direction, hand holding, and capacity building to perform to their best. She trains and coaches teachers, students and parents across a spectrum of issues.
She loves reaching out to people and invests in their capacity building. Her mission is to empower people and transform their lives. Her focus right now is to support young parents to be effective on their journey of parenting. Being in direct touch with children across ages, she could easily see and identify that the new context…nuclear families, urbanization, both parents working, virtual world, information explosion; this all is taking toll on our young impressionable minds. This is where she felt the need to step in and build awareness.
Today more than ever, it is the parents who need to be educated on issues like what to expect from children at what age of growth continuum, age-appropriate behaviours, the children choosing to study something based on their interest and aptitude and not based on parental notion or societal norms, equal importance of settling right values in children rather than just expecting high marks and admissions into big colleges.
As she sees, in order to have happy and responsible citizens we have to refocus at homes where the future is being raised. It is never about the children; it is about those in whose care they are being nurtured. So, apart from creating curriculum for the school she is busy creating Courses, Trainings, and workshops on Parenting. She is running a YouTube Channel on parenting issues. Through her blog, Growing Up with Life, she is sharing insights with the educational ecosystem. She hopes to see parental education better structured and easily accessible to parents in times to come.
