India is gaining momentum every year when it comes to developments in aviation and aerospace. Common people are gaining access to air travel more frequency at an economical price- something that was reserved for elites only a decade before. We have “UDAAN” scheme throttling up, we have several procurements in defence industry and the rise of UAVs with the possibility of food and medicine delivery in future.
With all these strides happening, there is still a big gap between the industry itself and common people. Most of us are still not aware about the depths, opportunities and ventures that are possible in aviation sector. This is the gap that “Aviakul” is trying to fill in. Founded by aviation enthusiasts- it aims to take the craze of flying and space down to masses.
The Word Aviakul stems from the amalgamation of two classic Languages. Avia, a latin word which means Flight or To Fly and Kul, a Sanskrit word which means Home, Family or Community. Hence our motto the Home of Aviation. It was only a couple of months ago, when they started with their aviation outreach venture- and the results were fascinating. The team took a bunch of village kids- who had no background of flying and aviation- organized a 4-day workshop which covered basics of flying and helped them a RC-aircraft. Though, the number of students were limited due to Covid protocols- the entire village was on their terrace to see an aircraft flying. Not only that, but their online programs also include interaction with commercial pilots, air ambulance flyers to some unique people such as Mr. Wayne White- who manages an entire station in South Pole! It is not every day that such programs are accessible and free of cost to anyone!
Additionally, they are also conducting ground classes- but with a technique that is outrightly different from the market- to give a multi-dimensional knowledge, they have instructors from various backgrounds. An aircraft engineers, a commercial pilot, and a trainer from Indian Air Force- so that the students get a versatile exposure of the domain of flying and aircrafts. Currently, they are establishing their own flying academy and are offering CPL programs. The company also aims to start a drone school and R&D lab for UAVs soon!
One of the boldest decisions that Aviakul has come up with is the establishment of an aircraft design bureau in India- something that is not being undertaken by many individuals in the market. They intent to train Indian students with the state-of-the design facility and be able to manufacture a completely indigenous aircraft in India. As our country moves ahead in the sector of aviation- the day is not far away when our fellow countrymen will be designing and flying their own experimental aircrafts. This is will not accelerate developments in commercial sector but in defines sector as well.
The company caters not only to the business ventures but rather what’s at the very heart of “Aviation Revolution” in India.
