There are millions of people who are either physically challenged or are not capable of earning and though we talk about child labor but in the ground reality there are children who work in the dumping yards, work in highways and earn themselves a living.

These people live on their own and at most have a member or two to feed but when the global pandemic surrounded the world everything was at halt from production to distribution to residuals and no humans were seen on roads there was these strata of people that was hit with the worst blow. Because few of them were physically challenged, the other lot was orphan and did not have anyone to look after them they were not able to have even a one-time meal. Neither did the schemes and policies helped these people nor were they able to avail these welfare schemes.

A similar instance took place in the neighborhood of Satyam, then was living a normal life when sudden lockdown was announced there were a dispersed-temporary settlement of children who worked as garbage pickers in the surrounding area and some of them worked as cleaners on highways and did these small jobs for their livelihood so that they could eat a meal or two out of what they earned but after the lockdown they were unable to do so. Seeing what was happening Satyam thought to help these kids and made sure that they were not left unchecked so he started cooking in his own kitchen and daily prepared 25 to 30 food packets for those kids and few people who were not able to earn and did not any saving or means.

During the initial phase it was all good but slowly as the word spread children were coming and the number continued to increase and finally a time arrived, to put in Satyam’s words, “The number increased and it required more finance to keep the work going.” After a while with a deep homework Satyam launched an Instagram page with the name ‘ihskasfoundation’ he posted out the work that he had done and now he would require fund to continue to do same and this is how the ihskasfoundation was founded.

As he reached out to masses it wasn’t in a day that he got finances for the deed but it took a lot of time and hard work despite of all the problems that he was facing he did not give up and requested people to help him. During the first few months there were just single digit people who donated and besides it them it was Satyam’s family and his friend’s and their family and relatives who helped him in the noble work. With time people came together and joined the community and as people were coming in helping, he was motivated to keep doing what he was doing. And finally, he got his NGO registered under Government of India as per the law of the land. Today, the ihskasfoundation is working across the country and providing food to the children and people who are unable to earn their own bread.

When our team asked him what were the challenges, he faced he said, “The biggest and the toughest challenge was gaining trust of the people due to the scams that happen in the name of social work and NGOs it was very difficult to get support of people as their belief in online donation was fading.” We asked how did he overcame with this difficulty and how did he gain trust of the people, he said, “We brought our transparency formula. By printing name and pictures on food packets with number tag we were distributing the food and photos were shared with donors via social media. This helped us to gain their trust and with this they were also feeling the joy with us.”

Even today if someone wishes to donate to the ihskasfoundation, they can do this through website. Donors can also celebrate their birthday with the ihskasfoundation or any other special occasion where they wish to help the need they can come and join hands with the ihskasfoundation. The NGO will donate on behalf of the donors. The donations are transparent and to make this sure the photo and name of the donor is printed on the items and it is done on the date that is selected by the donor. After donation they donate to poor kids and take pictures and video and our donor relationships team send to donors on the schedule date.

In the past two years ihskasfoundation has grown multifold and is single handedly responsible for changing the lives of more than 5000 children and help them get out of malnutrition. As their future concerns the team of wonderful 20 members wishes to provide education and medical support to these children and change their lives for the better.
