The country’s total cases have risen to 3.1 crore, pushing the death toll to 4,13, 091.
The number of people who have recovered from the disease so far are 3,02,27,792, as the recovery rate has further improved to 97.31%.
According to the latest data, the case fatality rate has increased to 1.33%.
With this, the active caseload in the country has declined to 4,24, 025 and now comprises 1.36% of the total infections.
The government data also shows that the active cases have decreased by 6,397 in a span of 24 hours.
A total of 19,98,715 samples were tested for Covid-19 on Friday, taking the total cumulative tests conducted for detection of the virus in the country to 44,20,21,954.
Meanwhile, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.91%. It has been less than 3% for 26 consecutive days.
The weekly positivity rate stands at 2.10 per cent, according to the health ministry.
Under the nationwide vaccination drive, India has administered a total of 39.96 crore vaccine doses till date.
India crossed two crore cases on May 4 and three crore cases on June 23.
