There are many businesses in the world and many entrepreneurs who start them. They may vary in the degree of their success, but all of them have something in common – the desire to do something that affects people. Doesn’t matter where they start from or how they get to the positions that they find themselves in, the important part still remains the desire to achieve their goals and the perseverance to pursue them. One such entrepreneur is Dibbyyan Nath, who through his zeal and commitment has been able to carve out a space for himself in multiple domains.
A studious and charming personality, Dibbyyan, had to deal with manging the dichotomy in his character and aspirations. On the one hand, the desire to let his creative juices flow in the form of writing and on the other hand fulfilling his academic aspirations. He was able to maintain both for quite some time, until he started to focus more on his higher education. This shift marked a critical move, as he was able to accomplish an alumni status from IIT Delhi, completed his MBA and MA along with a plethora of international certifications. From there on, he worked for multiple prestigious multi-national companies in various positions. While he was able to accomplish all that he wanted from his academic life, and was on the way to a successful career, the path that he was on did not feel right to him.
The main issue of contention that he struggled with was that the job that he was in, was not fulfilling enough for him. Firstly, the jobs took him away from his passion of writing and secondly, he did not want to be limited to being a cog in the machine. He wanted to contribute toward society, to give back. But how could he do that? He found a way. He first learned the ropes in the field of content creation, digital marketing, website development and more. He used his academic accomplishments combined with his experience in major international companies to set up his own entrepreneurship.
This marked the next chapter in his life. He was finally close to his passion of creative writing while also fulfilling his aspirations of contributing back to the community. With time he was able to increase the foot print of his company significantly and now his company has presence in the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, the United Arab Emirates and Australia apart from India.
Hailing from the north-eastern part of India, it had always been a career goal of his to bring “high-tech” jobs to this part of the country as this was something lacking in the region. He made that goal a reality by establishing operations in the region, and hiring locally. His footprint, however, is not restricted to the business and employment opportunities that he generates. It actually goes quite beyond that. He has been an avid participant in the civil society as well, through his various philanthropic endeavours. Some have been through his company and some others, that were closer to his heart, were through his personal capacity. Through his established networks both in the region and outside, Dibbyyan was able to introduce resources and support initiatives that might not have been possible without him.
At just 32 years of age, this big-time entrepreneur from a small town was able to achieve his goals in life. And that is how most of us would view it. But not him, his dream is more malleable and has quite a bit of room to grow. He is now trying to expand his operations not just in terms of clientele but in terms of the number of people that he employs. One of the more glaring things that he noticed was the brain drain not just from the country to abroad but also from the north-east of India to the rest of the country. This, he surmises, is caused by the lack of reliable and reputable employment opportunities for bright minds in the region. As such, the next stage in his entrepreneurial journey is growing his operations to employ more people from diverse backgrounds. And this growth is not simply premised upon the growth of his business or profit motivations, rather the basic purpose that he envisions is to create an ecosystem of talent within the region that can help and nurture a breed of entrepreneurs to boost the economy of the region.
To end the piece, let us leave with a quote from the entrepreneur that should actually resonate with the youth of this nation:
“Fear is the drug that kills your dreams and ability; once you learn to resist the drug, you make room for your happiness.”
